Job Overview:
DeGould is looking for an excellent UX Designer to develop the company’s products and optimise user experience in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and engagement. DeGould is an exciting, multi-award-winning company in the software and AI sector with a range of blue-chip corporate clients, implementing innovative vision and damage detection systems. As the company embarks on an exciting growth phase, the company plans to expand its team, further develop existing products, and explore opportunities for new ones.
The successful candidate will be involved across the company’s products but primarily be responsible for the design of stakeholder facing software, for example, the dashboards and apps the customer uses. Your primary responsibilities will be to understand customer requirements, design and test solutions to meet these requirements, and coordinate good design practices with the rest of the team to ensure an outstanding user experience. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative working and design processes is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with stakeholders and clients to gather information about their requirements.
- Propose and sketch out a range of visual concepts both on paper and using software applications.
- Create user personas, user journeys and site maps.
- Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes and user flows.
- Liaise regularly with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives.
- Attend meetings to discuss and review progress on the project.
- Run workshops for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct remote and on-site user research and usability testing with real users.
- Write reports and communicate the results of your work.
- Track user interactions and identify areas for improvement.
- Redesign websites and products to make them more responsive.
- Ensure design standards, guidelines and best practices are adhered to.
- Oversee research and insight projects to understand user needs.
- Ensure that all colleagues in the organisation have an understanding of UX design practices.
Skills:
- A proven track record collaborating with other designers, development teams, business analysts, engineers and project managers.
- A keen eye for visual design and a solid understanding of user-centred design principles.
- Front end coding skills (e.g. HTML/CSS skills) is desirable but not necessary.
- A track record delivering cross-platform applications to develop user experiences.
- An appreciation of software technology, trends and innovation.
- Familiarity with specialist tools such as Axure, InVision, Marvel, OmniGraffle, Visio and Sketch, as well as the Adobe product suite.
- Knowledge of design thinking and ability clearly to articulate how to put it into practice.
