Location: Hybrid Exeter / Remote Working

Reports to: Head of Product

Salary: Full time, Competitive

About the Company:

DeGould is looking for an excellent UX Designer to develop the company’s products and optimise user experience in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and engagement. The successful candidate will be involved across the company’s products but primarily be responsible for the design of stakeholder facing software for example, the dashboards and apps the customer uses. Your primary responsibilities will be to understand customer requirements, design and test solutions to meet these requirements, and to coordinate good design practises with the rest of the team to ensure an outstanding user experience. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative working and design processes is essential.

As the company embarks on an exciting growth phase the company plans to expand the team, further develop existing products, and explore opportunities for new ones.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with stakeholders and clients to gather information about their requirements.
  • Propose and sketch out different hypotheses to test with users.
  • Create user personas, user journeys and flows.
  • Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes and user flows.
  • Liaise regularly with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives.
  • Attend meetings to discuss and review progress on the project.
  • Run workshops for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct remote and on-site user research and usability testing with real users.
  • Write reports and communicate the results of your work.
  • Track user interactions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Redesign products to make them more responsive.
  • Provide design standards, guidelines and best practices to the wider team.
  • Plan research and insight projects to understand user needs.
  • Offer support for all the colleagues in the organisation to ensure UX design practices.

Skills:

A proven track record collaborating with other designers, development teams, business analysts, engineers and project managers.

  • A proven track record collaborating with other designers, development teams, business analysts, engineers and project managers.
  • Solid knowledge of information architecture, UX research, visual design and how to measure experience success.
  • Ability to communicate scenarios, end-to-end experience, interactions and screen layouts to other teams involved in the product.
  • A track record of user experience applied to cross-platform applications.
  • An appreciation of software technology, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and innovation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Figma, Sketch and the Adobe product suite.
  • Familiarity with working in Agile environments.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and the ability to articulate clearly how to put it into practice.
