Our story
DeGould Ltd is a privately held British company that has received significant investment from global players in the automotive and finished vehicle logistics industries.
In 2012 founder Dan Gould deemed the process of renting a car and the well-known handover and inspection process to be outdated and inconsistent. Using his background in digital imaging, he set out to find a solution and developed an automated photo booth.
In 2014 Jaguar Land Rover approached DeGould looking to solve a similar problem in their supply chain. A problem shared by all OEMs both in manufacturing and finished vehicle logistics. The first Auto-scan was installed at JLRs’ Solihull Plant ten years ago; the technology now forms their primary inspection process, removing the manual inspections at the handover. Jaguar Land Rover has since deployed the use of Auto-scan across their plants in the UK and Europe. All of this has led to other OEMs following JLRs’ lead, adopting DeGoulds automated vehicle inspection technology.
Today, DeGould has automated vehicle inspection solutions installed with leading OEMs and supply chain partners globally. These solutions include our flagship Auto-scan booth, as well as our latest product addition, Auto-compact. Our Auto-compact booth is the ultimate digital vehicle inspection solution, combining industry 4.0 AI damage detection with a small footprint and ultra-high-resolution image capture.
While continuing to expand on our global customer base, the team remains focused on developing our technology. DeGould is leading the way in delivering Artificial Intelligence-led solutions. Our intelligent AI algorithms are based on over 100 million vehicle image data sets, allowing for superior automated damage detection.
