DeGould has been striving for our Auto-compact solutions control cabinets to comply with UL’s applicable standards; in order to be compliant, our engineers had to design our units to meet OSHA’s (Occupational Health and Safety Administrations) standards. For DeGould, the overriding factor for the importance of achieving the UL certification is our current expansion into the USA. With multiple system installations taking place at locations throughout the US, it was imperative for our team to achieve this level of certification.
The UL mark is the single most accepted certification mark within the United States, without which it is illegal to place equipment on the market. The UL Single Unit Certification is specific to industrial control panel and factory automation equipment manufacturers. As an industry that supplies products on a project basis, the certification allows for compliance evaluation to be carried out at the factory, certifying a limited number of panels at a time.
UL Single Unit Certification is a rigorous standard to achieve. Despite the UL mark offering a similar level of assessment to the European CE certification, the standard of design philosophy they follow is notably varied. Developing our Auto-compact control panels design to a specification that allowed UL to award the mark is down to the efforts and expertise of our engineering and procurement team.
